  • The singer-songwriter married Garry Kief in 2014

Barry Manilowthinks his career may have looked different had he come out sooner.

In 2017, the "Copacabana" singercame out as a gay in a PEOPLE cover story. At the time, he revealed he privately married his longtime manager and partner Garry Kief in 2014.

In anew interview with theLos Angeles Timespublished on Wednesday, May 27, Manilow was asked if he thought the world looked at him differently since he came out.

"It was a non-event. Nobody gave a s---," Manilow, 82, said.

"They all knew. I never really hid it, but in the ’70s and ’80s, that would have killed the career, and I didn’t want to do that. So I just never talked about it," he added.

In his2017 cover story with PEOPLE, Manilow opened up about his fear of disappointing fans.

"I thought I would be disappointing them if they knew I was gay. So I never did anything," he said at the time. "When they found out that Garry and I were together, they were so happy. The reaction was so beautiful — strangers commenting, ‘Great for you!’ I’m just so grateful for it."

Manilow and Kief have been together as a couple for more than 47 years. In March, Manilowcaught up with PEOPLE once againand said that he felt like "a very lucky guy that he has chosen to share his life with me."

"We still laugh, and we don’t get bored with each other. It’s a great life," he said. "Two guys in a house on a hill with two dogs that we love — that’s us. I’m very grateful."

In a 2024 interview withThe Hollywood Reporter, Manilow said it was a "burden" to keep his sexuality a secret.

“I didn’t want my career to go away. I love it. I’m grateful for it. But it was a burden to keep it quiet,”Manilow told the outlet. "I was always worried. Every interview: ‘They’re going to ask me whether I’m gay or not.’ Nobody ever did, by the way. They never asked me the $64 question."

Emily Blunt says Meryl Streep danced to 'Mamma Mia' at her wedding to John Krasinski... reluctantly

Emily Blunt says Meryl Streep danced to 'Mamma Mia' at her wedding to John Krasinski... reluctantly

Emily Blunt recalled Tuesday on Jimmy Kimmel Live that Meryl Streep danced to "Mamma Mia" at her 2010 wedding to John Krasinski.

Key Points

  • Streep, Blunt's costar in The Devil Wears Prada and its sequel, starred in Mamma Mia and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

  • Blunt said Streep hadn't wanted to dance but she did for the sake of the couple's mothers.

Consider it a perk of being a movie star: actressEmily Bluntrecalls seeingMeryl Streep, her costar inThe Devil Wears Prada, dance the night away to a song that she's very much associated with.

It happened when a group of about 60 people at Blunt's 2010 wedding to actorJohn Krasinskitook a boat out on Italy's Lake Como. Streep was there because not only had she worked with Blunt in their fashionable 2006 film, but Krasinski had played her beloved future son-in-law in the 2009 movieIt's Complicated.

"[The DJ on the boat] would sing the songs in half-Italian, half-English," Blunt told the host ofJimmy Kimmel Livewhen she visited Tuesday to promote her new movieDisclosure Day. "And he started playing 'Mamma Mia,' and my mom and John's mom started ominously dancing towards Meryl."

Streep starred in the 2008 big-screen version ofMamma Mia!, and, likeThe Devil Wears Prada, the title proved to be the first of two installments. In 2010, she wouldn't have yet appeared inMamma Mia! Here We Go Again, which came in 2018. But she was already known for the film.

TheOnly Murders in the Buildingstar politely moved with the moms.

"She indulged them," Blunt told Kimmel, who'd also attended the nuptials. "But I said to her afterwards, I was like, 'What did you feel when they came for you?' and she went, 'I wanted to hurl myself into the lake.'"

Still, Blunt added, "She did it! We have pictures of them all dancing together. It was amazing."

Kimmel recalled that many of the people there hadn't met Streep before, so this was their introduction to the three-time Oscar winner. (Two at the time.)

Oddly enough, the wedding location where Streep's now famous dancing took place, was actually George Clooney's estate, and it was also a setting inThe Devil Wears Prada 2.

When Clooney was asked about the property appearing in the trailer for the blockbuster, he seemed unaware.

"Is it really? Oh man, I've made it," he joked toAccess Hollywoodbefore the movie hit theaters.

More seriously, he added, "The house holds a special place in my heart, because I love going there" and called Blunt a "dear, dear, dear, dear friend."

NEED TO KNOW

  • The two pose together in nothing but pants in the racy shoot, which was captured by the brand's creative director Eli Russell Linnetz

  • Rinna and Hamlin have been married for 29 years and share two daughters

Lisa RinnaandHarry Hamlinare the couple that does everything together.

The longtime couple, married since March 1997, took their relationship to the next level by starring in a new photo shoot for fashion brand ERL. The kicker? They're both topless.

The reality star, 62, and actor, 74, ditched their tops for the sexy shoot. Hamlin opted to go fully naked on top and let his pecs shine while Rinna went for a cheekier approach, wearing the brand's polka dot tie featuring a portrait of former PresidentJohn F. Kennedyto cover her chest.

If the accessory looks familiar, it's because Rinna also attended the2026 American Music Awards(albeit in less skin-baring fashion) while wearing it. The Bravo alum paired the patriotic tie with a brown nylon suit from ERL's Fall/Winter 2025 collection.

The photo shoot was done in Venice, Calif., with a minimalist studio as the backdrop. Snapshots were taken by ERL creative directorEli Russell Linnetz.

"Few couples embody the spirit of Los Angeles quite like Lisa and Harry. After nearly thirty years of marriage, they represent a uniquely Californian vision of celebrity — where Hollywood, television, fashion, and personal mythology converge. These portraits continue Eli Russell Linnetz's ongoing documentation of contemporary California icons and the ever-evolving identity of Los Angeles," reads a description shared by the brand'sInstagram.

They certainly grabbed everyone's attention, including their youngest daughter, Amelia Gray Hamlin, 24, who wrote, "I can't."

Rinna and Hamlin, who are also parents to daughter Delilah Belle, 27, will soon celebrate their30th wedding anniversary. However, Hamlin told PEOPLE that they already marked the occasion with a special getaway.

"Well, actually, we celebrated 29 for 30 because the world situation is not looking like it's going to be amenable to having lots of travel fun next year," Hamlin shared while attending the AMC Global Media 2026 Upfront. "Who knows what'll happen, but we took this little window of time and we went back to a place we'd been to 32 years ago."

TheL.A. Lawstar noted that it was the first trip for just the two of them in many years.

"What we realized about a month ago was that we hadn't gone on a trip together, just the two of us, in 32 years because we had kids and we always went with them," said Hamlin, who is also father tosonDimitri, 45, whose mom isUrsula Andress, 90.

Halsey Recalls Miley Cyrus Leaving Her House Party with a Bag of Postmates as She Spoke to Cops: 'Got to Go, Girl'

Halsey Recalls Miley Cyrus Leaving Her House Party with a Bag of Postmates as She Spoke to Cops: 'Got to Go, Girl'

Halsey recalled a police encounter at her house party where she challenged officers

People

NEED TO KNOW

  • Right after she was done talking to cops, she spotted Miley Cyrus leaving the party with Postmates

  • Halsey also compared herself to Gatsby, often hiding in her room during parties she hosted

Halseyis recalling a hilarious house party story involvingMiley Cyrus.

During an appearance on theFriends Keep Secretspodcast on Tuesday, May 26, the "Without Me" singer recalled having a run-in with police at one of her house parties.

"The police come... and I'm drunk. They're like, 'We want to talk to the owner of the house.' I'm like, 'Well, I guess that's me cause I just bought the house,'" Halsey, 31, said. "So I go outside to talk to the police and they're like, 'We got to shut this down.' I'm like, 'No, you don't.'"

The singer-songwriter, real name Ashley Frangipane. then said that the police insisted she was "breaking the law" — so naturally she questionedwhichlaw she was breaking.

"I don't know what happened to me. I switched on," she said. "I was like, 'We're operating within the legal sound limit. We're not exceeding fire code. There's no cars parked on the street. And I haven't exceeded the amount of people that I can have in the premises.'"

She continued, "I was like, 'So what law am I breaking?' And they were like, 'The law of common sense.' I was like, 'That's not a real law. See you later, officers.'"

As she started to walk away, she ran into Cyrus, 33, who was on her way out.

"Miley Cyrus is running out the door. She had a bag of Postmates in her hand," the "Closer" singer said. "She's like, 'Got to go, girl. Got to go.' Running away."

Elsewhere in the episode, Halsey said that she was like "Gatsby" (fromThe Great Gatsby) because she would throw parties and then "go hide."

"I would throw a party, I'd hang out in my bedroom most of the time, and then everyone would leave and I would be like, 'I did it. I socialized and now everybody is going to like me,'" she said.

Halsey released her last studio album,The Great Impersonator, in 2024. During an interview with Apple Music One's Zane Lowe in September of last year, the singer said she "can't make an album right now"because she's "not allowed to."

In the interview, she said thatThe Great Impersonator"didn't perform the way they wanted it to."

"If I'm being honest with you, the album sold 100,000 f---ing copies first week," Halsey said at the time. "That's a pretty big first week, especially for an artist who hasn't had a hit in a long time."

However, Halsey claimed that her label wanted "Manicnumbers from me," referencing her 2020 album that featured her hit song "Without Me."

"It would be considered a success for most artists, 100,000 albums in the first week, in an era when we don't sell physical music. But it's a failure in the context of the kind of success I've had previously," she said. "And that's the hardest part of having been a pop star once, because I'm not one anymore, and I'm being compared to people that I don't consider lateral to me."

Caleb Shomo, singer for rock band Beartooth, comes out as gay

Singer Caleb Shomo came out as gay in a statement he shared on Instagram.

Key points

  • The frontman for the rock and metalcore band Beartooth said it has been "difficult to navigate" his feelings and "figure out what to do" with them.

  • "This is something I've been unpacking and reckoning with in my life for quite some time now," the Ohio-based musician wrote.

Singer Caleb Shomo has come out as gay.

The frontman for the rock and metalcore band Beartooth shared alengthy statement on Instagramon Saturday reflecting on his sexuality.

"There's been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late, and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further," Shomo wrote. "I am a proudly gay man. This is something I've been unpacking and reckoning with in my life for quite some time now. It's been difficult to navigate the feelings surrounding the subject and figure out what to do with this fact."

Shomo, the only member of Beartooth who has remained in the lineup since he founded it in 2013, went on to explain how his sexuality has impacted his artistic voice. "I have always strived to chase who I am in the deepest part of my soul from album to album," he wrote. "As you could gather if you've followed the band at all in the earlier years, there are four very self-deprecating albums about exploring my religious upbringing, depression, self-hatred, self-loathing, and hopelessness."

The singer said he doesn't regret his early work, but he also doesn't think the music was a completely honest reflection of his true self. "I am grateful for all these albums," he wrote, "yet feel embarrassed at times that I wouldn't allow myself to really dig up the roots for so long."

Shomo explained that his journey to embracing his sexuality was a long one. "I spent a decade burying feelings with alcohol, and honestly when I decided to put it down and focus on exploring why I felt this way for so long, it's been a direct path to me reconciling with my sexuality in hopes that it will eventually lead to me experiencing self-love," he wrote.

Beartooth's sixth studio album,Pure Ecstasy, will be different from the Ohio-based group's previous output. "One thing I decided before I wrote a single note or lyric of the upcoming album is that whatever happens, I will express myself wholeheartedly and fully," the singer said. "Wherever it takes me, I will follow, and I refuse to water any part of it down, from the music, to the lyrical content, and way I portray myself. I will only do what makes me happy at the deepest level and what is the most honest depiction of who I am."

Shomo said he thinks it's "impossible to love every part" of yourself if you don't first "face every part of you head-on," adding, "I am trying to finally be proud of who I am, and I think this is a massive part of that journey."

The singer also shared his gratitude for everyone who has helped him along the way: "To those who have shown me love — empowerment through living life freely and openly in my presence, supporting the queer community, or simply telling me you love me whoever I am — I am forever in your debt, and I hope you know what you mean to me."

Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with ourEW Dispatch newsletter.

Shomo concluded his remarks with words of advice for others on the road to self-discovery. "I encourage anyone who's struggling with who they are to give yourself grace," he said. "Give yourself patience. Be honest with yourself. Do the hard work instead of burying it down as deep as you physically can, thinking it will change like I did. Holding these things in only hurts you and those around you. Love you all, and hopefully this is a step in the right direction to loving myself one day."
