How to Get to Heaven From Belfast, the new series fromDerry Girlscreator Lisa McGee, mixes crime and comedy over the course of its eight episodes.
The drama follows three childhood friends — Robyn (Sinéad Keenan), Saoirse (Roísín Gallagher) and Dara (Caoilfhionn Dunne) — as they investigate the shocking death of Greta (Natasha O'Keeffe), an estranged member of their once close-knit group.
The mystery of what happened to Greta only deepens, when the trio discover her demise may not be what it seems.
"This is the show I've always wanted to make; a mash‑up of my two favorite genres, mystery and comedy," McGee toldTudum. "We want to keep you guessing and keep you laughing."
The creator added that it's a "wild, weird adventure" that is "full of twists, turns, and arguments."
After it's all said and done, though, viewers might be left wondering whether the inexperienced investigators will return to solve more mysteries.

"I've left it open for a second series but it's all completely down to how many people watch," she told the outlet in February 2026. "I'd love to do one."

It has not been announced which actors will return ifHow to Get to Heaven From Belfastis renewed, but the three leads — Keenan, Gallagher and Dunne — could reprise their roles since all of their characters are still alive at the end of season 1.
While the cast has not been confirmed, the actors have spoken about how refreshing it was "to get a script that is driven by these three females in their late 30s ... not necessarily about motherhood or domestic," Gallagher toldJOEin February 2026.
"It's not set at home. We like to think of ourselves as really crap James Bonds off on an adventure," she continued. "Or Scooby-Doo. We solve mysteries. Jessica Fletcher meets Columbo, all of that. It's amazing."
